How do I open a Carhoots shop?
Opening a Carhoots shop is easy and free.
Simply visit our open a shop page and start creating your shop:
- Click on Create your shop
- Choose your unique shop name
- Enter your shop city and country
- Add your name, email, and password
- Click on Continue to dashboard
Once you are on the dashboard, you will be asked to do the following:
- Confirm your shop's shipping address.
- Enter your payment details where you want to get paid for your orders.
- Enter your shipping costs for each country and which countries you are accepting orders from.
- Personalise your shop with your logo, description, and banner.
- Add your shipping, return and cancellation policies.
How much does it cost to list an item?
Listing items on Carhoots is FREE. There are no upfront costs or hidden fee a setting up your shop and listing your bestselling car gifts on our site.
We have a limit of 10 products per store. Extra products come at a fee of $2.50 per month.
How do I get paid?
We currently support Paypal and Stripe as the two automatic payment methods for you and your shop. Both payments are at the end of each calendar month.
How many items can I list
You can list as many items as you want, provided they fit within the categories we offer. Basically, if your product is related to cars, motorcycles or motorsports, you can list freely. We do have a limit on the number of free listings at ten (10) per store. Additional listings cost a nominal $2.50/listing/mo fee.
This cap is on unique products, so if your listing has minor variations for colours etc., those variants will not count towards your ten free items.
What products can I sell
Anything related to cars, motorcycles or the various forms of motorsport works best. Specifically, F1/Formula 1 and MotoGP merchandise, memorabilia, collectibles and more usually do well.
If you are not sure of whether your product fits, we recommend taking a look at the categories we offer. That should give you a better idea of the products that you can sell on Carhoots.
You are free to list standalone items, items with variants (sizes, colours, etc.) and even digital downloads. As long as you are able to fulfill it well, it should work.
What are the fees
You only pay a fee when you sell a product. We only charge a flat 25% commission and no other fees. Not now, not ever.
Listing a store is free for a limited time, after which we will have a nominal store setup fee.
Our social media and Pinterest promotions for Carhoots sellers are also free for a limited time. After the offer expires, value-added services like promotions will involve a fee. The details of this will be made available well in advance.
To process your payments there is the standard payment fee of 4% + Stripe’s commission or 5.9% + Paypal's commission. As Stripe’s and Paypal's commission depend on your country, please visit Stripe's and Paypal’s pricing to find out more. You can track your money from start (in the sellers dashboard) to finish (in your Stripe dashboard and your bank account).
Alternatively, you can link your Paypal account. To process your payments through Paypal there is the standard payment fee of 5.9% + Paypals’s commission. Please be aware that Paypal payments can take up to 24h to reach your account.
Where do I see my orders?
Once you open your shop you will have a Sellers Dashboard, this is a really great tool for tracking orders, sales and products.
You will receive a New Order notification email when a customer places an order on your Carhoots shop.
